I went back to msconfig and enabled all my ram and now the soundcard records properly and I can use all my ram! I grabbed the SB X-Fi Extreme Audio card for about $55 cdn. This is very strange!! I am still using the Audigy 2 ZS and works fine with windows 8.1 and 7.
