Problem With HP Compaq Nx 9010 Screen

Any ideas on where to start? I only find one reference to the M&S Guide on the whole site and the link given for that leads to nowhere. RAM or hardware failure; your HP Compaq nx9010 powers on, but there is no display just black screen with Power led light ON and cooling fan work. It works for a bit and then fails in a similar fashion or by showing video artefacts which then crashes the machine anyway. Can someone please give me some hint? I tried to reboot with the recovery cd in the drive but it wont work.. I would like to take the laptop apart and rewire the square plug to accept a standard and easier to aquire round plug. official site

  1. When I press power, the power light, and the Three Lock Lights (Num, Caps, Scroll) come on, and stay on.
