Please Help. Amd Processor Is Too Hot. Please Help.

One of them tell me my CPU's "Core n1 temperature", which is 66C (almost idle). when putting the heatsink in, is it ok if I put a lot of pressure down on it? Last edited by Pill Monster; 10-28-2008 at 07:01. Screenshot Well, I can sleep now.

Every inch of it is covered with a blanket of insulating dust that raises the temperature of components across the board. The temps tend to be 55-60C idle and 65-70 during gaming/heavy load.I recently cleaned it off to put on new thermal compound, using Arctic Silver 5 as my thermal compound. Jefffritz12Dec 3, 2014, 6:57 PM AMD states that R9 290x range for temp is 80-95C at a safe temperature. Regardless of just how far the sensors are off, your idle temps are far too high anyway - so I would suggest pulling off the HS/f assembly and cleaning the entire http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/please-help-amd-processor-is-too-hot-please-help.25369/

fan plugged in? It even came with a pad insted of paste. The CPU is only maintaining the 57*C idle because of core throttling, and 90*C load for the same reason. I was told to remove the heatsink and get a nice one and put arcitc thermal compound on it.

Reseat you HSF and check Thermal Paste. There's some info about it I do have, though. I would have definitely noticed the unmistakable acidic smell of melting components if it's really running that hot. If you want lower temps you can ensure that their is enough thermal paste seated against the heatsink and look into buying an aftermarket cooler. any assistance appreciated Aug 10, 2006 Re: whats too hot for AMD 3000+ xp?
