Mine wasn't being recognised either, i kept switching PCI slots with the graphics card thinking one of them was broke. The default one is notoriously crappy. Double checked the PSU with the old components and it booted and ran Memtest fine. My power supply (SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply) came with a 8/6 pin pci e cable.
Never again after that though lol. I have seen it before though. It should go from 0 to +5 volts when you turn the PSU on with the case switch.
