Yes, my password is: Forgot your password? Of course the two parts of the clip that I cut off were unusable for anything. Donít be fooled by this game, itís very demanding on the Video card. Since I usually purchase aftermarket coolers for the GPU and CPU, Iíve a box full of stock heat sinks and all the mounting hardware.
Since the 6600GT AGP was originally designed for PCI Express, thereís a little chip on the card. The water must be very hard to render. This was way better than trying to concoct some mounting clip on my own which may or may not work. And so I did!

For the other RAM chips, I re-stuck the thermal pads to the Silencer at the right positions. Some nice side-effects: the HD dropped by 5°C, which can be explained by the exotic arrangement of components in the Black Box case. After cutting, I drilled 4 holes at the exact positions – to my best abilities – of the mounting holes. http://www.gamespot.com/forums/pc-mac-linux-society-1000004/need-a-new-cooling-for-my-old-msi-6600gt-please-sh-27519343/ Now it's time to tackle the NV Silencer! Even when running the fan on 8 volts, the GPU of the 6600GT was unable to saturate the 478 cooler with heat. if not, which would you choose bearing in mind that at this time I'm focused primarily on quietness, then price?
Second: cutting a tiny part off the cooler's exhaust, to compensate for the fact that it has been shifted a bit to the left. Get a PayPal account here . Try raising your high bid amount. Ask a question and give support.
Glad you got some good results with that. Moreover, the 6600GT AGP is not a big part of the market and won't stay for long. Good news, you're the high bidder. this content Lex Dr.

Try bidding again. They are so smooth that it's hard to keep them from rotating during the cutting of the thread. However, my neighbor has a Zalman VF700 installed on his 6600GT, and I'm not too impressed. How I did it You can click the images to view larger versions in a separate window.
the icestorm has a dB rating of 27. OR Really want to win? In the end, I ended up right against the two little screws, I even sanded a tiny bit off their heads. have a peek at these guys But after testing a bit, it proved to be good enough.
I also used this opportunity to sand the fairly rough copper base of the cooler, and apply some better thermal paste (Arctic Silver Céramique). I had marked them by positioning the cooler onto the card at the optimal position, and then sticking a thin marker through the holes. So people who want an easy improvement in cooling performance and don't care much about the noise, can stop here. Or, if you don't think you'll ever need the clips again, you can just cut them off.
the damn thing is pretty much permantly bent... You're the highest bidder on this item! if you find a better one let me know and i'll update this list for others' use ) #5: I could try to get another stock heatsink for an XFX 6600gt And because I found the cooler's push-down springs a bit weak, I stretched them to increase their force.
At least I didn't ruin my equipment. I remember they were already pretty hard to find, so my guess is that M2 screws will be nearly impossible to find. I would suggest that you either go with a Stasis or the Vf700.
